Last week was supposed to be a tough one for Davante Adams. The Green Bay Packers wide receiver was facing off against the league’s best pass defense and a loaded secondary. And while he didn’t exactly blow up the box score like he’s capable of doing, he still turned in a solid fantasy football performance with nine catches on 10 targets with 66 yards and a touchdown. So what about this week against the Buccaneers in the NFC Championship?
Fantasy Football analysis: Packers WR Davante Adams, $8,000
The Packers played a little different game plan last week, one designed at beating the Rams defense by negating their pass rush with quick, shorter shots and lots of running. It worked, but it meant lesser numbers than Adams is used to. That could change this week.
Adams had 61 yards on six catches in that ugly Week 6 loss to the Bucs earlier this season. That’s unlikely to happen again. The league’s best receivers have done well against the Bucs all season; that includes Tyreek Hill’s 269-yard performance. Calvin Ridley had 163 yards in one game against the Bucs this season, and the Rams had two players with 130 yards or more earlier this season too.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Adams is the most expensive wide receiver in DraftKings leagues this week, but he’s a great stack with Aaron Rodgers, who’s a bargain at the QB position. Whatever fantasy format you’re playing this week, Adams is, as always, a must-start.
