The Green Bay Packers leaned heavily on their run against the Los Angeles Rams and their league-best pass defense in last week’s Divisional round win. And while none of their three backs had a decided advantage in overall production, Jamaal Williams had a very solid outing, enough to make him an intriguing fantasy football in this week’s NFC Championship game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Fantasy Football analysis: Packers RB Jamaal Williams, $4,400
Williams had 12 carries for 65 yards last week. Not a bad day overall, but what really makes it interesting is that Aaron Jones had 14 carries. Williams saw fewer overall snaps, but still had a big role to play in the offensive game plan.
Tampa Bay has the best run defense in the NFL. It’s not easy to find running room against that team. Still, Alvin Kamara managed 85 yards on 18 carries last week in the Divisional round.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
What makes Williams an interesting play this week is his price tag. He’s not an RB1 in any lineup, but give his role in that offense and that price tag in DraftKings league, you can afford to take a flyer.
