Best value lineup strategy for Bucs vs. Packers in the NFC Championship

We go over some of the top DFS value plays for the NFC Championship game between the Bucs and Packers.

To kickoff championship Sunday, the No. 5 seed Tampa Bay Buccaneers will play the No. 1 seed Green Bay Packers at 3:05 p.m. ET on FOX. This is a rematch from Week 6, where the Buccaneers won 38-10.

This game also features a ton of stars such as Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, Aaron Jones Tom Brady, Mike Evans, and Chris Godwin that many DFS players will try to stack their lineup with. But as we always see in DFS showdown contests, it is not about the star players sometimes. It also depends which players you have in those FLEX tiers to fill out your lineup.

Outside of the big names for the Bucs and Packers, who are some lower-tier value flex plays on both teams that could help you win this NFC Championship game showdown on DraftKings? Let’s discuss some options below.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR, $5000

The 26-year-old wide receiver has a lot of big play ability and can stretch the field for the Packers’ offense. Last week, Valdes-Scantling was targeted early and often by quarterback Aaron Rodgers. MVS recorded four receptions (eight targets) for 33 yards, which only equaled out to 7.3 fantasy points.

However, he’s going up against a Bucs’ defense that is ranked 25th against WRs this season (OPRK) and allowed 39.9 fantasy points per game. Tampa Bay will likely match up Sean Murphy-Bunting on Davante Adams, which will leave Valdes-Scantling either on Carlton Davis or Jamel Dean.

Cameron Brate, TE, $4600

With Rob Gronkowski basically serving as an extra offensive lineman for the Bucs, it has allowed backup tight end Cameron Brate to be used as a weapon in the passing game. In both of Tampa Bay’s playoff games, the veteran tight end has eight receptions (11 targets) for 130 yards. Despite not scoring a touchdown in either game, Brate still scored nine and 12 fantasy points respectively.

On Sunday, he’ll be facing a Green Bay defense that has been stingy against tight ends this season. The Packers rank fifth against TEs (OPRK) and only surrender 10.4 fantasy points per game. But without Antonio Brown in the lineup, someone else will need to step up to replace his production.

Scotty Miller, WR, $1800

Speaking of Antonio Brown, one player who could step up and thrive in his absence is Scotty Miller. Last week against the Saints, Miller only had one reception, but it was a big one for 29 yards that but the Buccaneers inside the red zone. The 5-foot-11 wideout has been used sparingly due to the emergence of Brown. But we also remember that Miller has given us tremendous performance such as Week 7 against the Raiders, where he had 25.9 fantasy points (six receptions for 109 yards, 1 TD). Or scoring double-digit fantasy points in both Weeks 5 and 6.
