Victor Oladipo, Christian Wood listed as out Saturday vs. Mavericks

The Rockets are coming off a close win over the Pistons on Friday night. Wood missed that game and now Oladipo will sit. We break down the fantasy basketball and betting implications.

The Houston Rockets have ruled out G Victor Oladipo and C Christian Wood for Saturday night’s game vs. the Dallas Mavericks. Wood missed Friday’s win over the Detroit Pistons and was considered doubtful to play on Saturday. Oladipo is taking a seat to rest on the second night of a back-to-back. The Rockets are also listing PG John Wall (knee) as probable to return to the lineup.

Update: Wall is available to play and should re-enter the starting lineup.

With Wood and Oladipo out for the Rockets, this game may be pretty rough. Wall comes back but he could be limited a bit coming off the knee injury. At $7,000, Wall isn’t a bad tournament option if he’s going to play a full allotment of minutes. If not, it’s hard to trust him in this matchup. DeMarcus Cousins ($5,100) will get another start for Wood. Cousins had an awful shooting night on Friday, going 2-of-16 from the floor. He also had 15 rebounds and 7 assists, so Boogie is still valuable at this price with Dipo and Wood out.

Jae’Sean Tate ($5,000), PJ Tucker ($3,900) and Eric Gordon ($6,000) will all have some value on DraftKings. Tucker makes the most sense in a chalk lineup given his price and expected minutes. Gordon has a high ceiling and Tate would give you a bit of leverage. Boogie will also be chalk and Wall we need to see what happens with his minutes.

The line on this game is at Mavericks -9.5. The number is definitely going to jump up, so getting the spread now is favorable. The Over/Under is at 219, which is hard to gauge. The Rockets may not score much but this also could be a game in which Dallas lights it up. I’d wait and see how the public bets and how the line moves before reacting or look for a spot in-game to take advantage of.
