The game of the night on Friday in college basketball will take place in West Lafayette when the seventh-ranked Michigan Wolverines head on the road to play the Purdue Boilermakers. This game is set to tip off on Friday, January 22 at 7 p.m. ET.

Michigan bounced back from its first loss of the season earlier this week with an 87-63 win over the Maryland Terrapins. Meanwhile, Purdue is playing its best basketball of the season, winning four games in a row including a 67-65 road victory over the No. 15 Ohio State Buckeyes on Tuesday night.

So where are sports bettors going as we get closer to game time? Let’s take a look. All odds and info were provided by DraftKings Sportsbook.

Point Spread

Michigan comes into this game as 4-point favorites on the road, and that’s where the money is going from the betting public. Of all the bets coming in on the point spread, the Wolverines are getting 86% of the bets including 95% of the handle.

Is the public right? This will be a competitive game throughout, but Michigan will pull away in the end. The Wolverines have seven Big Ten wins, and six of those have come by double digits. The Boilermakers are playing their best basketball of the season, but Michigan is on another level in the Big Ten and should cover this spread.

Over/Under

The point total for this game is set at 139 and as usual, the public money is coming in on the over. Over bets are getting 92% of the bets and 91% of the handle.

Is the public right? I agreed with the public on the point spread, but I’ll side with the 8% going after the under. A big reason for Purdue’s recent surge has been the defense as the Boilermakers haven’t allowed more than 72 points in their last five games. In addition, Purdue ranks No. 299 in possessions per game, so possessions will be limited. Take the under.

Moneyline

Michigan has -186 odds to win this game outright, while Purdue is at +155. The Wolverines are getting 82% of the bets to get a win and 93% of the handle.

Is the public right? Yes, Michigan will win this game. The Wolverines are 12-1 overall this season and have their sights set on a potential Final Four run. They should get it done on the road.
