On Wednesday night the No. 8 Houston Cougars will look to avenge their only loss of the season as they welcome the 8-3 Tulsa Golden Hurricane to H-Town. The game tips at 8 p.m. ET and will air via live stream on ESPN+.
The Cougars have easily dispatched virtually all of their opponents this season, except for Tulsa. Houston has been a well-oiled machine, scoring nearly 75 points per game while only allowing 56 each time out. They’re led by Quenten Grimes, who averages close to 20 points per game, and Marcus Sasser, who is hitting over 15 points in each contest. Since their loss to Tulsa on Dec 29, they’ve made easy work of their opponents, winning each game by a margin of 15 points.
Tulsa hasn’t been able to breeze past anybody this season. Their win over the Cougars was by just one point thanks to a foul with less than one second left on the clock. Since then they’ve gone 3-1, never winning a game by more than 10 points and losing to WSU by 19. The Golden Hurricane is averaging just 67 points per game while they’re giving up 61. It’s a pretty safe bet that UH will push the limits of their defense and make it tough for their offense to hit their normal totals, especially considering how they’ve played recently.

The Best Bet
The best bet on this one is the money line. Houston has been dominant this entire season outside of their one game against Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane looked like a real threat in the AAC early in the season, but they’ve faded fast in recent weeks. Houston should be able to avenge their loss and reaffirm their dominance in the conference.
Pick: Houston -1250
