How and what to watch for No. 5 Iowa vs. Northwestern

We go over how to watch Sunday’s men’s basketball matchup between Iowa and Northwestern.

We’ve got some Big Ten basketball on tap for Sunday, as No. 5 Iowa will be hosted by Northwestern. The Hawkeyes have won four straight since losing to No. 23 Minnesota on Christmas and have been powered by star big man Luke Garza, who leads the team in points, rebounds, and blocks per game.

Garza has a lot do with Iowa’s 12-2 record and should give the Wildcats a difficult time, as Northwestern is just 6-5 overall and 3-4 in conference play. NU has lost four of its last five against ranked teams, and will hope to even its season series with Iowa at 1-1 after losing 87-72 in December.

Game Time/TV Channel/Streaming

Point Spread, Totals, Odds, Trends

Point spread: Iowa -9.5
Point Total: 157.5
Money line: N/A

  • Iowa is 14-5 against the spread in their last 19 games, with the over hitting in 11 of their last 15.
  • Northwestern is 1-4 in their last five ATS, and the over has come in four of their last six.

The Best Bet

Northwestern doesn’t have a great track record against ranked teams and fell to Iowa by 15 in December. The Hawkeyes are running hot and can depend on one of the most consistent players in the country. They should comfortably cover the spread in this rematch.

Pick: Iowa -9.5
