How to handle Ronald Jones injury in the 2021 NFL Playoffs

Ronald Jones is on the Bucs final injury report for the Divisional round and was noted as a game time decision. We break down what it means for fantasy football roster and DFS decisions.

Game status: Ronald Jones is ACTIVE for the Divisional Round.

Game day update: Jones participated in Saturday’s walkthrough, per Ian Rapoport, which is a good sign he’ll play on Sunday. They’ll decide once they get to the stadium for pre-game warmups, but as James Palmer noted, Jones practiced Thursday and Friday last week only to be scratched after he arrived at the stadium on game day.

The #Bucs will decide on RB Ronald Jones (quad/finger) when they arrive at the stadium, but he participated in the walk-through on Saturday which is a sign he’s got a good shot to play. Officially, he’s listed as questionable vs the #Saints

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers listed running back Ronald Jones as questionable on the official injury report ahead of this weekend’s Divisional matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Jones is dealing with a quad contusion, and head coach Bruce Arians said Friday that Jones’ status would be a game-time decision on Sunday.

Fantasy impact: Ronald Jones (finger, calf)

Jones was active last week in the Wild Card round, but he didn’t see a snap as his quad injury flared up before the game. Leonard Fournette got the start instead, carrying the ball 19 times for 93 yards and a touchdown.

After missing practice on Wednesday, Jones was able to get in some limited work on Thursday and Friday. Nevertheless, Fournette will be making the start against the Saints, and that’s where your fantasy attention should be focused.

The last time these two teams met, in Week 9, Jones and Fournette combined for a grand total of nine yards and four carries. Fournette did make six catches in that one for 41 yards.
