Tracking the performance of Najee Harris in the CFP National Championship vs. Ohio State

Najee Harris was just voted as the country’s best RB and now looks to help lead the Alabama Crimson Tide to the national title. We’ll track his performance throughout the National Championship.

Final Update — Harris ran for 79 rushing yards and two scores while also chipping in with seven receptions for 79 yards and a score in Alabama’s 52-24 win.

Update — It didn’t even take a minute for Harris to score in the fourth quarter. He scored his third touchdown of the day on another short run and has amassed 156 yards from scrimmage.

Third-quarter update — Harris leads all rushes with 69 yards on 17 carries and also has seven catches for 79 yards. He wasn’t able to reach the end zone for the third time in the third quarter but will have a chance to score again in the final frame.

Halftime Update — Harris has been effective on the ground with 45 yards and a score on 11 carries, but has been just as effective through the air. He’s caught five passes for 66 yards and a score as well and only trails DeVonta Smith in receiving yards.

Update — Harris hauled in a 26-yard touchdown reception from Jones in the second quarter. He’s rushed 10 times for 39 yards and a score and has hauled in both of his targets for 38 yards and a touchdown,

First-quarter update — Harris has 26 rushing yards and a score on nine carries through the first frame and one reception for 12 yards. The Crimson Tide ended the first quarter in a goal to go situation, but Mac Jones connected with DeVonta Smith on a short pass for the score to open the second quarter.

Update — Harris got an easy score on Alabama’s first drive and punched the ball in on a one-yard run in the first quarter. He’s tallied 14 rushing yards on four carries and has a 12-yard reception as well.

The Alabama Crimson Tide’s Najee Harris has been possibly the best back in all of college football this season, and what is likely his last game in college will be for the College Football Playoff National Championship against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Monday night in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Harris is a dual threat, with 229 carries for 1,387 yards and 24 rushing touchdowns this season, as well as 36 receptions for 346 yards and three touchdowns in the passing game. The fifth-place finisher in the Heisman Trophy voting also does plenty in the non-stats area as well, as he’s known as one of the best pocket protection backs in the game as well.

We’ll keep an eye on the performance all night for Harris as well as all of his teammates as they play in the biggest game of the year. The Crimson Tide are currently 8.5-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook.
