One of the top quarterback prospects in college football is set to face off in Monday’s College Football Playoff National Championship at 8:00 p.m. ET and it’s not Trevor Lawrence. Ohio State’s Justin Fields will face off against No. 1 Alabama and could improve his draft stock significantly but it’s unlikely that he’ll catch Clemson’s star. Let’s take a look at how the two quarterbacks stack up on DraftKings Sportsbook ahead of the title game.
Fields has the second-best odds to be selected first overall in the 2021 NFL Draft and is +700 on the moneyline. While he’s only played in seven games this year he’s thrown for 1,906 yards with 21 touchdowns and six interceptions. His best performance of the season came against Clemson in the Super Bowl. He tallied season-highs in passing yards (385) and passing touchdowns (6) in the game. Ohio State is a 9-point underdog ahead of Monday and +240 on the moneyline so a victory could do a lot for Fields.
Lawrence has been the odds-on favorite from the very start of the 2020 season and is -2000 on the moneyline. He’s been heralded as one of the most talented quarterbacks the college game has ever seen since he won a national championship in 2018. While he was eliminated before reaching the final stage by the Buckeyes this year, he’ll very likely still be first off the board.
