Gameday inactives for Bears vs. Saints Wild Card matchup

We discuss the gameday inactives for the Bears and Saints and their impact in the Wild Card round of the 2021 NFL Playoffs.

The Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints kick off their Wild Card game at 4:40 p.m. ET, airing on CBS. In the meantime, both teams declared their inactives for the game.

Chicago Bears inactives

CB Buster Skrine, WR Darnell Mooney, LB Roquan Smith, CB Jaylon Johnson, OL Lachavious Simmons, NY Daniel McCullers, OLB Trevis Gipson

The impact

The Bears originally listed Mooney and Smith as questionable on their final injury report. On Saturday, Chicago downgraded both players to out. Johnson was listed as questionable with a shoulder injury, but will not be able to go.

New Orleans Saints inactives

DE Trey Hendrickson, CB Ken Crawley, OL Derrick Kelly, WR Austin Carr, DL Malcolm Roach, RB Ty Montgomery, WR Juwan Johnson

The impact

The biggest news is what we knew was coming. Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas are both active after being activated off injured reserve. Kamara was isolated all week due to COVID-19, so it’s unclear if he’ll lose much of his workload to Latavius Murray. The big news on defense was also known earlier this week, with defensive end Trey Hendrickson inactive due to a neck injury. He led the team in sacks this season.
