Both J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards had a productive day on the ground last week against the New York Giants, helping the Baltimore Ravens secure their fourth straight win. They’ll need both running backs in fine form this week against the Cincinnati Bengals if they’re going to make it to the postseason, which also happens to be great news for both players’ fantasy outlook.
Fantasy Football analysis: Ravens RBs J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards
Dobbins had 77 yards and a touchdown last week, before leaving the game early in the third quarter with a chest injury. That was his fifth game in a row with a touchdown, and he’s finally carved out a role as the Ravens’ 1a option out of the backfield. Edwards ended up leading the team with 15 carries after Dobbins left. He had 85 rushing yards, and he also caught two passes for another 37 yards.
The Bengals are giving up more than five yards per attempt to opposing running backs. Last week they were gashed for 128 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries by David Johnson of the Texans. It’s a very favorable matchup for both Dobbins and Edwards.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
J.K. Dobbins is an excellent choice for an RB2 this week, with a high ceiling. Edwards is a good play at RB3 or Flex, if you have that option. He might even have some appeal as an RB2 this week with other teams resting their starters.
