The Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors square off in Game 6 of their second-round series in the 2020 NBA Playoffs. The Celtics won Game 5 to take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series, looking to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals with a win on Wednesday. If they pull it off, they’ll meet the Miami Heat in the next round. The defending champs are looking to extend the series and force Game 7. Let’s take a look at some DraftKings Showdown picks for the contest, which locks at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Set your DraftKings lineup here.
Captain’s Pick
Kyle Lowry ($14,400)
I think we see some pushback from the Raptors to force a Game 7. This series has been very tight, though the Celtics have won two games by a wide margin. Lowry had a huge Game 4 with 55.25 DKFP to tie the series. I expect a similar type of performance with the season on the line. It’s either that, or the Raptors just give in and the Celtics dominate on defense again. Knowing Lowry, he won’t want to go out that way.
Fade of the Game
Fred VanVleet ($8,400)
It’s difficult envisioning a scenario in which FVV really goes off. The Celtics have done too good a job on him defensively all series. VanVleet has been OK on the box score, but it’s nothing over his salary. In fact, he’s be underperforming compared to his salary more times in this series. He hasn’t hit the 40 DKFP mark since Game 1. With Marcus Smart chasing him around all game, VanVleet is a fade for me even in such a big game.
Value Picks
Norman Powell ($4,600) — Serge Ibaka’s status is up in the air for this game. So we should see more Marc Gasol ($5,600) or more smaller lineups. This would mean Powell in there with FVV, Lowry, Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby. Powell has had his moments in the playoffs and this could be a big stage game for him. The Raptors need some sort of jolt off the bench and Powell is the only option if Ibaka is out.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson ($1,000) — The other player who could benefit from Ibaka being sidelined is Hollis-Jefferson, who ate up some minutes in Game 5. It was a blowout, but still, the Raptors were banged up a bit. RHJ has some experience being apart of the bench mob for Toronto the past couple seasons. He can provide a spark as well and this price is good if you want to pay up for guys on the Celtics.
