Wide receiver PPR rankings for Week 1 fantasy football

We take you through some of the best PPR wide receivers going in Week 1 for fantasy football, including a few viable streamers.

Wednesday injury report: NFL teams released their first injury reports of the 2020 season on Wednesday for Week 1. Among wide receivers, the following made an appearance:

Brandin Cooks (quadricep) — Questionable — there’s a good chance he misses Thursday’s opener. Even if he does play, a soft tissue injury is concerning for aggravation

Kenny Golladay (hamstring) — Limited participation — worth tracking to see if he improves to full

Amari Cooper (hamstring) — Full participation — should be good to go on Sunday

Nelson Agholor (groin), Bryan Edwards (knee) — Full participation — should be good to go on Sunday

Curtis Samuel (hamstring) — Full participation — should be good to go on Sunday

DeVante Parker (hamstring), Preston Williams (knee) — Limited participation — worth tracking to see if they improve to full

Julian Edelman (knee) — Limited participation — likely nothing, but worth tracking to see if he improves to full

Jamison Crowder (hamstring), Denzel Mims (hamstring), Breshad Perriman (knee) — Full participation — should be good to go on Sunday

Alshon Jeffery (foot) — DNP — Expected to miss multiple weeks

Jalen Reagor (shoulder) — Limited participation — expected to miss opener, but was a surprise not to be a DNP on Wednesday, so chance he could maybe play

Antonio Gandy Golden (concussion) — Full participation — should be good to go on Sunday

Mike Evans (hamstring) — DNP — uncertain for Sunday with Bruce Arians saying it could go all the way down to the wire of a game-time decision

Deebo Samuel (foot), Brandon Aiyuk (hamstring) — DNP — both are fairly significant question marks for Sunday

Football is back! Right? Yeah, it is! And we’re back with weekly fantasy football rankings. With no preseason games and limited to no fans in the stadiums, it will likely take these teams a little while to get to top performance. The good news is, we’ve all watched a lot of bad football in our days and somehow managed not to gouge our own eyes out. Oh, and great players make great plays and we’ll see those as well.

The Vikings still have good safety play, but their corners have hit the skids and Davante Adams is the only reliable receiver in Green Bay to start the season. I expect 15 targets for my No. 1 receiver this week.

I expect Marcus Lattimore to take on Mike Evans more often than not this week while Chris Godwin should find a bit more room as he travels around the formation. We haven’t seen this offense with Tom Brady at the helm yet, but I’m all in on Godwin in a game where the Bucs will need to score to keep up with the Saints.

DeVante Parker was a high draft pick for me this season and he played Stephon Gilmore well last season, but I still have to drop him in the rankings quite a bit this week. But, if Gilmore follows Parker, there’s a good shot Preston Williams can find some room this week.

Streaming WRs

Greg Ward, Eagles

Ward will play slot for the Eagles and take on a weak Washington secondary. Alshon Jeffery and Jalen Reagor are out, which should help Ward see enough work to have value in deep PPR leagues this week.

Jamison Crowder, Jets

Crowder is the healthiest and most reliable receiver on the Jets right now. That might not give him a big fantasy game in a poor matchup against a good Bills secondary, but he should still have PPR upside. We’re not looking for five catches for 135 yards and two touchdowns, but instead, 8 catches for 80 yards. That’s not going to move the Jets to a win or Sam Darnold to a big fantasy day, but it will help your PPR team.
