The Jets and Sam Darnold helped the Colts to a fantasy matchup winning two pick-sixes, three interceptions, two sacks, a safety and just seven total points scored. That is the kind of day that makes you want to remove D/STs from your league completely. The Eagles sacked Joe Burrow eight times, but gave up 23 points and didn’t force any turnovers, while the Browns forced five turnovers and sacked Dwayne Haskins three times. The Giants got lucky enough to face the 49ers with half of their team out with injury, but managed a couple sacks and negative four fantasy points. That’s not good.
As usual, picking a D/ST is fraught with inconsistencies, but there are some teams that are just so awful (I’m looking at you Jets) that you can predict them to keep being awful.
Covid-19 News
We’re still getting information on the Tennessee Titans Covid-19 breakout, but at the moment it looks like the NFL is going to do all they can to get both the Titans-Steelers and Vikings-Texans to play this week. If they do, the Titans and to some extent, the Vikings, won’t have been able to practice as much as their opponent’s have. But, we are still waiting for definitive news on the status of these matchups, which means there is also a chance they move the games to a later date.
Streaming D/ST
Denver Broncos vs. Jets
I don’t think Sam Darnold is as awful as his stats this year, but there’s no doubt the Jets are in a free fall right now. Denver is available on many waiver wires, so grab them up!
New York Jets at Broncos
If Brett Rypien is starting, then play whatever defense he’s starting against and see how it goes.
Seattle Seahawks at Dolphins
The Seahawks pass defense has been torched so far this season, but they’ve also played some decent passing attacks. If they can get up on the Dolphins, I expect Ryan Fitzpatrick to have trouble in comeback mode.
