10:39 p.m.: Mercifully, it’s over. Trump didn’t mention his kids, Biden didn’t mention his Corvette. George Stephanopoulos called it the “worst debate I’ve ever seen.” That’s the only stone cold lock of the evening.
Anyway, this is over. We hope you did great on the betting pool. Get out and vote on or before November 3rd. And let’s all hope that everything 2020 is behind us soon.
10:20 p.m.: We thought this was going to be fun to follow along with the debate, and a discussion of issues. Instead that’s me putting in for hazard pay with my employer for having to watch this. Anyway there’s only 10 minutes theoretically, and hopefully my blood pressure will go down shortly after this is over. It’s certainly not been a great night for democracy.
No movement on kids or Corvettes in the last 20 minutes.
10:00 p.m.: Trump says law and order! That one is off the board, and now we’re down to just two unanswered questions. If Joe Biden could discuss how much he loves his Corvette and Donald would shout out all five of his children, we could shut this down and all go home. As it is, there’s like 30 more minutes of this.
I’m so sorry.
9:28 p.m.: Twitter says a lot of you have turned this off... and we can’t blame you! If you did, it was Joe Biden that mentioned Barack Obama first, in reference to how he handled the H1N1 virus when he was Vice President.
9:26 p.m.: Well we know “Will you shut up man?” is going to be a meme, and Donald Trump was the first to mention Dr. Anthony Fauci in reference to Covid-19 figures.
9:17 p.m.: The first mention of Bernie Sanders was in relation to healthcare, but this is disintegrating quickly. The cross talk is happening more often than the candidates speaking individually.
9:10 p.m.: And we’re getting through these quickly! Vice President Biden said Kamala Harris’s name first in reference to the left-wing of the party, and he also mentioned China in relation to his ban to allowing their citizens to end during Covid-19.
9:05 p.m.: And away we go! President Trump and Vice President don’t shake hands, and our first pool question is answered.
The Presidency of the United States for the next four years is down to two men, and Round 1 of Joe Biden vs. Donald Trump takes place in Cleveland tonight with the fate of the republic and much of the free world at stake. It’s kind of a big deal!
The event will be live from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, and will air from 9:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. ET on every channel that’s not showing sports or reality television. It will stream on YouTube and assorted other options.
Chris Wallace of Fox News will be the moderator, and the Commission on Presidential Debates released the list of topics for the first debate. The format will be six 15-minute time segments dedicated to the following topics:
The Trump and Biden Records
The Supreme Court
Covid-19
The Economy
Race and Violence in our Cities
The Integrity of the Election
With both candidates known for saying the thing they might not always want to say publicly, this could get wild. There will likely be plenty of viral moments, and we’ll be tracking the DraftKings Sportsbook Presidential Debate Pool. It’s a free-to-play contest where those that answer 10 questions correctly will have a chance at a prize pool worth $50,000. I’ve put together my predictions here.
We’ll be back with updates throughout the 90-minute, including results of the pool as they happen in real time. Follow along here for updates!
Here are the questions and potential answers to DraftKings Sportsbook’s $50,000 Presidential Debate Pool.
