With Davante Adams likely to miss the Green Bay Packers’ showdown against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday Night Football, it will depend on other Packers to step up on the offense.
Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling are two obvious candidates to see an opportunity for more targets, but could RB Jamaal Williams become more involved catching passes out of the backfield? What about Aaron Jones?
Fantasy Football analysis: Packers RBs Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams
Samaje Perine of Washington. Week 10 of the 2017 season.
That’s the last time a running back rushed for over 100 yards against the New Orleans Saints defense.
Aaron Jones could struggle to find running room against the Saints, and Jamaal Williams isn’t likely to have any easier go of it himself. But when you have Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, it’s possible Aaron Jones is at least able to find cheap touchdowns with a Packers wide receiver gets stopped short of the goal line.
Williams might be able to be better in the passing game, but Aaron Jones is too good of a running back to be taken off the field for too many snaps a game. And because of the Saints defense’s ability to control opposing running backs, Williams likely won’t be able to do enough with his limited touches to warrant starting on game day.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Jones as an RB2. Bench Williams.
