Game status: Jacobs is ACTIVE for Week 3.
Game day update: Jacobs is questionable but expected to play vs. the Patriots, according to Adam Schefter. He’s a must start if active.
Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs is officially listed as questionable on the injury report this week. Labeled as a hip injury, it kept him out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but he was back on the field with his teammates on Friday, making him a safe bet to play on Sunday against the Patriots. The game kicks off at 1 p.m. ET.
Fantasy impact: Josh Jacobs injury
The centerpiece of the Raiders offense, Jacobs is near the top of the leaderboard in all the major rushing categories. That also includes rushing attempts—he’s second in the NFL with 52 carries—and the heavy workload could be one reason he missed some practice time this week. But his 181 yards and three touchdowns through two weeks of play, have once again made him one of the few sure things in fantasy football.
There’s no reason to be concerned about his status for this week’s game. However, since it’s a 1 PM start, you should make one last check on his status Sunday morning just to make sure. If he can’t play, Jalen Richard and Devontae Booker would handle the ground game. The Patriots aren’t the easiest team to run against, but Jacobs is a must-start pretty much every week as long as he’s healthy.
