The Pittsburgh Steelers signed Eric Ebron to a two-year, $12 million contract back in March, a move aimed at giving quarterback Ben Roethlisberger a playmaker at the tight end position. So far, however, the numbers just haven’t been there to make him a regular option in fantasy football.
Fantasy Football analysis: Steelers TE Eric Ebron
Ebron had his best outing in black and gold last week, catching three of five targets for 43 yards. Despite the low number of targets, just seven through two games, Ebron is on the field with the starting offense and running routes for the majority of snaps. Plus, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has a positive history with tight ends, so that all points toward more productive days for Ebron ahead.
But this might not be the week. Part of Ebron’s problem from a fantasy perspective is that the Steelers are just so loaded with weapons at wide receiver, they don’t need much from their tight end. The Texans, who the Steelers play this week, don’t have the defense to slow down JuJu Smith-Schuster and Diontae Johnson.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Sit Eric Ebron.
