Though he’s yet to find the end zone, New York Giants tight end Evan Engram has maintained a featured role in his team’s offense this season. Now, with running back Saquon Barkley out for the rest of the season, quarterback Daniel Jones could be leaning on Engram even more.
Fantasy Football analysis: Giants TEs Evan Engram
Engram had a good game last week against the Bears, catching six of eight targets for 65 yards. That was a much better effort than what we saw in Week 1, where he was targeted seven times, but caught just two.
So with the centerpiece of the offense on the shelf as well as injuries among the wide receivers, it stands to reason that Jones will be looking to Engram even more. But this is a tough week to justify having Engram in your lineup. The 49ers have allowed, get this, just three receptions and 26 yards to opposing tight ends this year. It’s a terrible matchup for the Giants and Engram.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Sit Evan Engram.
