The Philadelphia Eagles have a two-headed monster at tight end with Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert. While the former has been one of the better, more reliable fantasy producers over his eight-year career, he’s been eclipsed somewhat by the South Dakota State product this season. The team has a favorable matchup this week against the Bengals, which could be a boon for one, or both, tight ends.
Fantasy Football analysis: Eagles TEs Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert
Goedert has the edge in production this season with 131 yards and a touchdown compared to just 60 yards and a score from Ertz. Perhaps more tellingly, Goedert has a slight edge in targets, 17 to 14. Still, both have been a reliable safety valve for quarterback Carson Wentz, and with more injuries to the receiving corps, the Eagles may not have much choice but to lean even more on both players.
The Bengals have been good to opposing tight ends, allowing nine catches for 119 yards in two games this season. Goedert looks like the better play based on target share and his youth, but Ertz could factor into the game plan enough to put up some fantasy points, if you need a streaming option. Goedert’s a slightly better value in DFS leagues this week too, $4,900 to $5,100 for his teammate.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Dallas Goedert and Zach Ertz.
