It’s been a disappointing season so far for the Detroit Lions, but one bright spot has been the play of second-year tight end T.J. Hockenson. He’s been a boon for fantasy leagues too, and with a matchup this week against the Cardinals, he should once again be in your lineups.
Fantasy Football analysis: Lions TE T.J. Hockenson
What’s most impressive about Hockenson’s stat line so far this season is that he’s caught every single pass thrown his way, nine to be exact. He’s got 119 yards and a touchdown as a result of those catches. These haven’t been cake matchups either. The Bears had him doubled up plenty in Week 1, and the Packers defense, who he faced last week, has kept tight ends bottled up well going back to last season.
This week, Hockenson gets an easier matchup against the Cardinals. Arizona has allowed 11 catches and 84 yards to tight ends so far this season, but with the Lions expected to be throwing the ball to try and keep pace with the Cardinals, he should have a productive outing. It doesn’t hurt that Detroit could have its No. 1 receiver, Kenny Golladay, back in action this week, demanding attention from the defense.
