Can either of these running backs add value to your lineup?

The Washington Football Team will look to bounce back from a tough loss to the Arizona Cardinals as they take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 3. Antonio Gibson has seen his role grow significantly from Week 1 to Week 2 as Peyton Barber was nearly erased from the game plan, while J.D. McKissic saw a modest increase in usage as well. What can we expect from this backfield in Week3 against a stingy Cleveland rushing defense? We break down the fantasy analysis below.

Fantasy Football analysis: Washington RB Antonio Gibson, JD McKissic

Antonio Gibson received 9 carries in his rookie debut in Week 1, which he turned into 38 yards while adding two receptions for eight yards. His production nearly doubled in Week 2 as he turned 13 carries into 55 yards and a touchdown, while adding one reception for negative three yards to total 12.2 PPR points. The Washington Football Team seems to be interested in developing their young back, and it’s feasible to think that his role will continue to grow as the year goes on. He faces a tough match-up this week, but if his workload remains consistent he can provide a solid floor for fantasy owners and should be considered a starter in most lineups.

J.D. McKissic received only three carries in Week 1 for negative yardage, while adding one reception for one yard. He improved in Week 2 when he received 8 carries for 53 yards, though he was uninvolved in the passing game. McKissic seems to merely be a role player on this offense, as the Washington Football Team has much more invested in Antonio Gibson. He should remain on the waiver wire for the time being.
