Baker Mayfield rebounded from his terrible 2020 debut against the Baltimore Ravens by leading the Cleveland Browns to a Week 2 victory against the Cincinnati Bengals. He could be under pressure often against the Washington Football Team’s fearsome, young defensive line in Week 3, and we’ll go over his fantasy football outlook here.

Fantasy Football analysis: Browns QB Baker Mayfield

Mayfield didn’t throw the ball much in his last outing because of Cleveland’s success running the football, but completed 16 of his 23 passing attempts for 219 yards and a score with one interception. The Browns have the most talented one-two punch in the NFL coming out of their backfield, and that’s why they have they fourth fewest passing yards (408) in the NFL this season. Mayfield has improved against the blitz over time, but he probably won’t throw the ball enough to put up monster numbers against Washington.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Mayfield is safe to start and has a solid floor, but if you have players who are likely to throw the ball more, sit him. Mayfield’s ceiling appears to be limited by his team’s dangerous running attack.
