Both of the Los Angeles Rams’ best running backs suffered injuries in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but neither player is thought to be in danger of missing multiple games. However, few teams are committed to running the football as much as the rams. We’ll go over how injuries to Malcolm Brown and Cam Akers could affect Jared Goff’s fantasy football upside against the Buffalo Bills in Week 3.
Fantasy Football analysis: Rams QB Jared Goff
Los Angeles has run the ball 79 times this season, and only the Chargers (83) have tallied more rushing attempts. While the Rams have plenty of talented pass catchers, three quarterbacks with two full games under their belts have thrown fewer passes than Goff has this season. Brown will likely play with a fractured pinky in Week 3 while Cam Akers is questionable with a rib injury, but it’s hard to see the Rams running the ball as much against a Bills team that’s given up the third fewest rushing yards 151 in the NFL. Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, and Tyler Higbee will be difficult to contain.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Goff might have to do more than usual against such a stingy run defense and limited depth in the backfield. Starting him looks like a solid option after the Bills gave up 328 passing yards and two touchdowns to Ryan Fitzpatrick in Week 2.
