Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is still looking to find his way without DeAndre Hopkins. He thrived in his season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs, but was stifled by the Baltimore Ravens the following week. Can he bounce back against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3?
Fantasy Football analysis: Texans QB Deshaun Watson
Watson threw for a season-high 275 yards against the Ravens, but only tallied one touchdown pass with one interception. His inability to get a second rushing score stopped him from matching his Week 1 performance. He’ll face the best rush defense in the NFL this week. Pittsburgh has given up a mere 133 rushing yards, which is the lowest mark in the NFL. This means that Randall Cobb and Brandin Cooks might have to carry a heavy offensive workload against a secondary that includes Minkah Fitzpatrick and Joe Haden, as Will Fuller V is dealing with a hamstring injury. This matchup doesn’t bode well for Watson.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
It’s probably best to start Watson if he’s your QB1 in season-long fantasy, but playing a quarterback with a higher ceiling against a worse defense is worth considering. Watson could give you leverage in DFS, but rostering him is very risky.
