BREAKING: Florida State is terrible

It’s a tire fire in Tallahassee, and they’ve played less than six quarters as I write this.

The Florida State Seminoles appear to be very bad at football. Here’s how we know:

1. They lost to Georgia Tech 16-13 in Tallahassee two weeks ago. And then Georgia Tech lost to Syracuse, who might be the worst team in the ACC, 37-20 today in the Don’t-Call-It-The-Carrier Dome.

2. They are losing 28-3 to the #12 Miami Hurricanes after less than 20 minutes of football tonight.

3. This. What in heaven’s name is happening here??

The ‘Canes D’Eriq King is 18/23 for 185 yards with two touchdown passes, and there are 40 minutes of football left in Hard Rock Stadium. Here’s the drive chart so far, and keep in mind the Canes muffed a punt on their own side of the field to try and help FSU out:

The Noles came into this game as an 11-or-12-point underdog depending on who was offering the action. That seems quite generous towards the Noles so far.

This is a team in full chaos: Undisciplined, under-talented, and looking like Mike Norvell being on or off the sidelines isn’t going to make much of a difference. We’ve got a full rebuild in Doak Campbell Stadium forthcoming, and they might be the worst team in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Yes, that Florida State. The one with three national championships. And that’s pretty amazing.
