After a mess of a start to the season with teams struggling against low-level opponents, the Big 12 will begin conference play on Saturday. All 10 teams will be playing at some point throughout the day from noon ET through 7:30 p.m. ET. Looking at the five Big 12 matchups this weekend, we identified some interesting splits on where the money is going.
All odds and info are provided by DraftKings Sportsbook.
West Virginia Mountaineers vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys
Oklahoma State was considered to potentially be a team that could challenge Oklahoma for the top spot in the Big 12, but the betting public is coming fading the Cowboys in their second game of the season. That’ll happen when you struggle to put away Tulsa and have an injured quarterback with Spencer Sanders. Eighty-six percent of the money is coming on on underdog West Virginia to cover the 6.5-point spread, and 83% of the bets are siding with the Mountaineers.
Iowa State Hawkeyes vs. TCU Horned Frogs
The largest difference in splits between where the money is going and percentage of bets is coming in on the point total when Iowa State travels to take on the TCU Horned Frogs. Currently, 78% of bets placed on the total in this game have sided on the over 44.5 points. The under is only seeing 22% of bets, but that’s where the money is going. The under is receiving 79% of the handle going into this matchup.
Kansas Jayhawks vs. Baylor Bears
Hardly any faith is being put into Les Miles in his second game in his second season as the head coach of Kansas football. The Jayhawks are coming in 0-1 this season after being handled fairly easily by Coastal Carolina, and the betting public is making its voice heard. Baylor is coming in as 17.5-point favorites, and the Bears are receiving 98% of the bets on the moneyline and they’re seeing 97% of the handle.
