He’ll be the heavy favorite to finish this match before the full 15 minutes though. It’s mainly due to Sanchez’s age. At 38 years old, he is 2-1 in the last two years, so he is coming in with confidence and enough left in the tank to make it an interesting bout.

With 12 losses in his MMA career, Sanchez will be going up against a 16-4 Matthews. A takedown specialist, Matthews averages 2.2 takedowns per 15 minutes. He’s had just one of his last five UFC victories not end in a decision.

Matthews is coming off an 86-point win in February, and he’ll likely have a similar performance against Sanchez, whose age and experience may provide futile when going against a young Matthews.

While the favorite to win, Matthews hasn’t been great about finishing his opponents. Both his cost and limit ceiling make him a liability, but he should be a shoe-in to at least secure big points.
