DFS considerations for Ketlen Vieira vs. Sijara Eubanks in UFC 253

The only main event women’s bout at UFC 253 will be at bantamweight between #7 Ketlen Vieira and #13 Sijara Eubanks this Saturday live at Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.

This is the only women’s bout of the main event, and it’s one that will have Vieira open as the favorite at -190 with Eubanks coming in at +150. As far as historical DFS though, it’s Eubanks’ 79.2 with the edge over Vieira’s 63.4.

Vieira’s average was brought down by a first-round knockout her last time in the ring. It was #6 Irene Aldana who took her down, but the problem for Vieira in DFS stemmed before even that fight. As for Eubanks, she’s riding high on a recent 104-point victory over #15 Julia Avila.

Averaging 2.03 takedowns per 15 minutes, Vieira is much more comfortable as a grappler. She records just 2.74 strikes per minutes with 35 percent accuracy. Her strength is clearly on the ground. Her opponent is quite different as Eubanks throws 4.71 significant strikes per minutes with 42 percent accuracy.

The style in which this fight goes down could be the make-or-break factor for DFS. Combining the two UFC fighting histories, we see nine of 11 bouts have gone the distance, so expect this to be one that may end after 15 minutes.

That doesn’t bode well for DFS, so while Vieira may be the better bet, there’s no “good” bet here.
