UPDATE: With a big lead, Fitzpatrick didn’t need to do too much more after halftime, but he did add to his stats with a touchdown run, as he completed 90 percent of his passes, going 18-for-20 for 160 yards two touchdowns and rushed seven times for 38 yards and a touchdown.

Game, Beard.

Even the great Walter Payton has to share his statistical prowess with the bearded one.

Oh, and here is that reception!

In the battle of the facial hair, The Beard has taken a lead on The Stache, as old man Ryan Fitzpatrick has yet to have a pass hit the ground with 11 straight completions to start this matchup against the Jaguars. Those 11 straight completions to start are a personal record for Fitzpatrick, as he picks apart the Jacksonville defense.

He’s completed 11-of-11 passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing four times for 24 more yards. The 37-year old journeyman popped right back up after taking a helmet to helmet shot on a run, which turned into a first down.

The younger version of Fitzpatrick, Gardner Minshew II, hasn’t been as effective, but he’s completed 7-of-9 passes for 71 yards and rushed three times for 22 yards as we close in on halftime. He also is without his No. 1 receiver D.J. Chark, who is out tonight with chest and back injuries.
