What to do with DeVante Parker, Preston Williams in Week 3 fantasy football

Do either of these receivers belong in your lineup as the Dolphins look for their first win this weekend?

While the Dolphins have yet to win their first game, they have held their own in two tough match-ups against division rivals to start of the season. Most recently, in an impressive effort, the Dolphins managed to put up 28 points against a stout Bills defense in Week 2, as Ryan Fitzpatrick attempted 47 passes on the day. DeVante Parker was able to double his fantasy output from Week 1 in this outing, but Preston Williams had a disappointing showing. With Mike Gesicki and Isaiah Ford emerging as reliable targets as well, are Williams or Parker worthy of a spot in your lineups as a they face the Jaguars Thursday night? It’s worth noting that the Jags secondary has yet to see DJ Hayden practice this week. We break down the fantasy implications below.

Fantasy Football analysis: Dolphins WRs DeVante Parker, Preston Williams

DeVante Parker had a great outing against a tough Bills secondary in Week 2. He brought in five of eight targets for 53 yards and a touchdown, finishing the day with 16.1 PPR points. He has an easier match-up against Jacksonville in Week 3 and has the potential for another big day. Of note, Parker had a limited practice on Tuesday as he continues to have hamstring soreness. This is a lingering injury and we may have yet to see a fully healthy Parker this season. Keep an eye on his status as Thursday night approaches. If healthy, Parker deserves a role in most fantasy lineups.

Preston Williams received a lot of hype last season prior to a season ending injury in Week 9. The hype picked up again in the offseason, but Williams has yet to deliver this year. Williams was only able to bring in two of seven targets in Week 1 and he caught one of five targets in Week 2. He has not scored more than 6 fantasy points in each of those games. Williams may provide value in dynasty leagues, but given the emergence of Gesicki and Ford as reliable receivers, along with the ever present target dominance of DeVante Parker, Williams may not have the volume to produce at a desirable level at this time.
