UPDATE: Sutton is believed to have “tore up his knee” and is done for the season, per Mike Klis. ESPN and NFL Network are reporting the same thing with a torn ACL.

The Denver Broncos welcomed back wide receiver Courtland Sutton in Week 2 after a shoulder injury cost him Week 1, but now they might have lost him for a longer period. Sutton suffered a knee injury on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Broncos fear he has suffered a “significant” knee injury, according to NFL Network. Sutton had three receptions for 66 yards before leaving the game.

Sutton will have an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the damage. If he misses any time, Jerry Jeudy moves into the No. 1 receiver spot, and Tim Patrick, DaeSean Hamilton, and rookie K.J. Hamler all move up the depth chart. Tight end Noah Fant would likely see a sizable boost in targets while Sutton is sidelined.

This all comes following Drew Lock’s own shoulder injury, which is expected to sideline him 2-6 weeks. Jeff Driskel replaced him in the Broncos starting lineup against the Steelers and completed 18 of 34 passes for 256 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.
