Bucs get late miracle cover in win over Panthers

The Bucs were gonna win, but the late cover is icing on the cake if you bet them -8.5.

If you bet the Carolina Panthers +8.5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, I’m so sorry. If you bet the Bucs -8.5, OH MY GOD!

The Panthers trailed by ten and kicked a field goal just after the 2-minute warning to cut Tampa’s lead to touchdown. Carolina could not recover the onside kick and the expectation was for the Bucs to try and run out the clock. Leonard Fournette got the handoff and ran into a stuffed line.

Except, that wasn’t the end of the play. Fournette found an opening and broke through for a 46-yard touchdown. It capped a huge day for Fournette, who rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries. With four receptions for 13 yards as well, it would appear he has supplanted Ronald Jones atop the Bucs depth chart.

But for sports bettors, one thing mattered. The Panthers drove down inside the 10, but could not turn it into any additional points. The Bucs got the miracle cover after what looked likely to be a bad beat on the late Panthers field goal. What a game!
