Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle has been ruled out for this Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. He was dealing with an ankle injury this week, and was forced to miss practice. He was officially ruled out on Friday. There’s a possibility that Doyle’s injury could force him to miss more than one game, so it’s a situation worth keeping an eye on beyond this week.

Fantasy impact: TE Jack Doyle injury

Doyle caught three passes for 49 yards last week, on four targets from quarterback Philip Rivers. In the past, he’s been a part-time red zone threat, scoring four times last year, but he’s far removed from his 80-catch, 690-yard season in 2017.

As far as fantasy owners should be concerned this week, Doyle’s absence will most likely result in more work for running backs Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines. The former will be the team’s official starting running back, replacing the injured Marlon Mack. Taylor caught six passes for 67 yards last week. Hines got more looks in the passing game, and figured to have a larger role there. He caught eight throws for 45 and a receiving touchdown last week. Both already had solid value as RB2 or Flex players, and their stock rises with Doyle sidelined.
