The Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots go head-to-head Sunday night. These two teams head into Week 2 both coming off wins and look to start a winning streak. Russell Wilson looked great throwing for four touchdowns while Cam Newton played well with two rushing touchdowns and one passing.
The bulk of those fantasy points are going to go to the likes of Russell Wilson, Cam Newton, Chris Carson, Tyrell Lockett, D.K. Metcalf and Julian Edelman. The question is, who are those one or two players further down the radar that will become critical in this game and help you roster more studs in the DraftKings Showdown?
Carlos Hyde, RB, Seahawks, $3,400
Chris Carson caught two touchdown passes in Week 1, but was very much in a committee with Carlos Hyde, who rushed for a touchdown and had seven carries to Carson’s six. Carson ended with 45 percent of the snaps to Hyde’s 34 and had 12 touches to Hyde’s seven. There’s not much upside with Hyde, but at his price, another touchdown is a win.
Will Dissly, TE, Seahawks, $2,200
Greg Olsen led the way in Week 1 with 66 percent of the snaps to Dissly’s 40 percent, but reports have Dissly being eased back due to his Achilles surgery, but that Dissly will be a big part of the offense. Will that happen this week? I don’t know, but I do expect these tight ends to be more of a committee and Dissly has more upside than Olsen at this point.
N’Keal Harry, WR, Patriots, $5,200
Harry saw six targets while Julian Edelman had seven and both caught five. Harry only caught short passes for just 39 total yards, but this is a game where Cam Newton will need to throw more than 19 times.
Damiere Byrd, WR, Patriots, $1,400
This game sets up well for Byrd to at least get a target! In Week 1 he led all Patriots wide receivers in snaps but didn’t have a ball thrown his way. The Patriots were extremely conservative with just 13 passes to wide receivers, but there’s no way they can get away with that against the Seahawks and Russell Wilson. Byrd is a fine punt in Showdown GPPs.
