What to do with Larry Fitzgerald, Christian Kirk in Week 2 fantasy football

Arizona’s other two receivers don’t look like good fantasy plays this week.

There’s a huge gap in production among the Arizona Cardinals receivers. There’s DeAndre Hopkins at the top, and a quite a few steps down from him are Christian Kirk and the ageless Larry Fitzgerald. Both of the later two are likely to have their big days this season, especially Kirk, but it’s impossible to predict when that might happen, making them both players to avoid in fantasy football.

Fantasy Football analysis: Cardinals WRs Larry Fitzgerald, Christian Kirk

Kirk had just one catch on five targets last week against the 49ers, despite the Cardinals using him on a variety of routes. Despite his one catch, he still totaled zero yards. Fitzgerald was slightly more productive, catching four passes for 34 yards. But there just weren’t a lot of balls to go around with Hopkins catching pretty much everything that came his way.

The Cardinals are favored in this week’s game against the Washington Football Team, which could mean a few more looks for Kirk and Fitz. But then again, how much are they really going to need either one of those guys when the team can do pretty much whatever it wants with the running game and Hopkins there to dominate the secondary. I’d leave both players on the bench until we get a better idea of just how they’re going to fit into the whole picture.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Sit Christian Kirk and Larry Fitzgerald.
