What to do with Kendrick Bourne, Brandon Aiyuk, Trent Taylor in Week 2 fantasy football

Brandon Aiyuk returns to action this week, and looks like the best bet for fantasy production among the 49ers receiving corps.

Sorting out the picture for the San Francisco 49ers’ offensive skill players is one of the more challenging tasks facing fantasy footballers this week. And while we know the running backs are going to get plenty of work, it’s the depth chart at wide receiver where things get complicated.

The 49ers moved Deebo Samuel to injured reserve this week, muddling things even more. Meanwhile, all-universe tight end George Kittle has been sitting out practice all week, putting his status in doubt for Sunday’s game against the Jets. The good news is that Brandon Aiyuk returned to practice in full this week, meaning he moves up to the top spot on the depth chart, and the team’s best fantasy option among pass catchers not named Jerick McKinnon.

Trent Taylor and Kendrick Bourne each caught two passes on five targets for a grand total of 41 yards last week. Dante Pettis had just one fruitless target in that outing.

Among the group, Aiyuk is the best bet to have a productive day from a fantasy perspective this week. And the matchup certainly boosts his potential, enough to make him a decent option for a third or fourth receiver or a flex spot in lineups.
