Some of us are old enough to recall a time where Kirk Cousins kind of looked like an exciting player. Make no mistake, he’s perfect adequate, well deserving of the game manager label he gets tagged with more often these days. But if you need QB help for Week 2, you could do worse than Cousins.
Fantasy Football analysis: Vikings QB Kirk Cousins
Cousins had a big fourth quarter making garbage time throws in a one-sided affair against the Packers. He finished the game with 259 yards, two touchdowns, and one pick. This week, the Vikings travel to Indianapolis to play the Colts. You’ll recall that this is the same Colts team that gave up three touchdowns to Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew.
Add in the fact that Minnesota’s rebuilding defense means the Colts are likely to produce some impressive numbers on their own, and it stands to reason that the Vikings will be forced to throw the ball more to stay in this one. Unless you have one of the obvious must-start QBs, Cousins is a nice option for fantasy lineups, and a relative bargain at $5,900 in DraftKings leagues.
