The Dallas Cowboys have plenty of young, talented wide receivers to feed including Michael Gallup heading into his third season and rookie CeeDee Lamb. Both performed fairly well behind Dak Prescott’s go-to target Amari Cooper. We’ll see if new head coach Mike McCarthy will utilize more of a pass-first approach than Dallas has had in previous years.
Cooper is a stud who is in fantasy lineups every week, but what should you do if you have either of the other Dallas pass catchers? Let’s dive in and take a look.
Fantasy Football analysis: Cowboys WRs Michael Gallup, CeeDee Lamb
In his NFL debut, CeeDee Lamb caught five passes for 59 yards including a 33-yard reception. He was targeted six times. Gallup gained 50 yards on three receptions on five targets in the game. The Cowboys’ passing attack will match up with Atlanta, which was shredded by Russell Wilson, who completed 31 of 35 passes for 322 yards and four touchdown passes.
Also of note, Cooper found his name on the injury report and was limited in Thursday’s practice with an ankle injury. He finished with 81 yards and caught 10 balls but if he is limited on Sunday or is unable to go, Gallup and Lamb could be in for a much bigger day. Keep in mind, Dallas is already without tight end Blake Jarwin for the rest of the season with a torn ACL.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Gallup can be entered in confidently as a No. 2 wide receiver in standard leagues. As for Lamb, he is a flex option at this point until he proves he can produce on a consistent basis early in his rookie season.
