What to do with Greg Olsen in Week 2 fantasy football

In his 14th NFL season, Greg Olsen had a productive fantasy day in Week 1 thanks to an early touchdown. Can he keep it up in the Seattle offense?

In his first game with the Seattle Seahawks, Greg Olsen caught four passes for 24 yards and scored a touchdown on Sunday in a 38-25 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Heading into his 14th NFL season, Olsen isn’t nearly what he once was at the peak of his career, but this is a promising start to his first game with Seattle.

Fantasy Football analysis: Seahawks TE Greg Olsen

Olsen saw only four targets in the game with limited yardage, but the touchdown salvaged his fantasy day. He was more of a factor than fellow Seahawks’ tight end Will Dissly, who is returning to the team after tearing his Achilles last season. Dissly figures to see an increase in playing time and targets as the season goes along, which should limit Olsen’s usage. Dissly caught two passes for eight yards on Sunday.

Russell Wilson likes throwing to tight ends, so whoever is his main target at the position has some sort of value. However after 14 NFL seasons, Olsen’s best years are clearly behind him and could be tough to rely on each week as fantasy owners will just be hoping for a touchdown.

In Week 2, Olsen is matched up with a New England Patriots defense that allowed 30 yards and three receptions to Mike Gesicki.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Olsen should not be on most fantasy radars in his matchup against the Patriots. He is a tight end No. 2 with limited upside.
