What to do with Corey Davis, Adam Humphries in Week 2 fantasy football

Can Corey Davis build off his impressive Week 1 performance?

When you have a running back as good as Derrick Henry, and frankly as quarterback only as good as Ryan Tannehill, who needs a passing game?

Ryan Tannehill threw for “only” 249 yards in the Titans’ Week 1 win over the Denver Broncos at Mile High, adding two touchdowns with zero interceptions. Unfortunately for fantasy owners of the Titans wide receivers, both touchdowns went to Tennessee tight ends, with Jonnu Smith and MyCole Pruitt (who?) each snagging a score.

In Week 2, the Titans now make their home debut, facing a Jacksonville Jaguars team that just gave up 362 passing yards to Philip Rivers and the Indianapolis Colts. After his midseason resurgence, AJ Brown has become a clear fantasy starter, but he is sidelined with a knee injury. The question then becomes, what about the rest of the Titans wide receivers this week?

Fantasy Football analysis: Titans WRs Corey Davis, Adam Humphries

Fantasy owners of Corey Davis last week were likely thrilled with Davis’s 7/101/0 (receptions/yards/touchdowns) stat line last week against the Broncos, but the more encouraging number here is “8.” Davis and AJ Brown tied for the team lead in targets with 8 a piece, with Davis hauling in 7 of 8, and Brown only able to pull in 5.

Looking to the Jaguars’ game last week, the #1 wide receiver for the Colts, TY Hilton, had a solid, if not unspectacular line of 4 catches and 53 yards. With Brown sidelined for the game, the Jaguars will likely focus in on Davis. While Davis had a strong game last week, it’s tough tell how he might look with defenses focusing in on him as the #1 receiver.

Adam Humphries was only one target behind Davis and Brown last week, but most of his were short-yardage situations, as despite hauling in 6 of 7 targets, he finished with only 47 receiving yards. With Brown out, he gets a modest boost against a bad Jaguars team.
