New York Giants wideout Darius Slayton was able to lead his team in receiving yards (740) and receiving touchdowns (8) as a rookie in 2019 and could take the WR1 spot from Stering Shepard in 2020. The sophomore wideout was dominant against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1 and could have another solid performance against the Chicago Bears in Week 2. We’ll go over how the two stack up against one another in fantasy football here.
Fantasy Football analysis: Giants WRs Darius Slayton, Sterling Shepard
Shepard stood out as the top wideout at camp. He was very efficient against the Steelers and caught all six of the passes thrown his way to tally 60 receiving yards. Slayton also caught six passes, but totaled 102 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He and Saquon Barkley led the Giants with nine targets apiece. Slayton is the speedier of the two wideouts, and that could give him more potential to make big plays.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
I’d start Shepard over Slayton in season-long fantasy because he led the Giants in receptions despite playing four fewer games than Slayton last year. Slayton is more desirable for DFS.
