Best player prop bets for Thunder vs. Rockets Game 7

We go over some player props to consider on DraftKings Sportsbook for Game 7 of Houston vs. OKC on Wednesday.

James Harden of the Houston Rockets looks to drive the game against Lugentz Dort of the Oklahoma City Thunder for Game six of the first round of the 2020 Playoffs as part of the NBA Restart 2020 on August 31, 2020 at AdventHealth Arena in Orlando, Florida.  Photo by Jim Poorten/NBAE via Getty Images

Man, was that some Game 6 .... So Russell Westbrook comes back to the lineup and the Houston Rockets look unstoppable in Game 5. Chris Paul comes back with the answer in Game 6 and Westbrook blows it late with a turnover. Or was it James Harden not being aggressive enough and demanding the ball? You can argue for either really. Anyway, let’s take a look at some player prop bets to consider for Rockets vs. Thunder Game 7 at 9:00 p.m. ET.

James Harden OVER 34.5 total points (-106)

I know, I know, the defensive intensity from the Thunder, blah, blah. Westbrook is back and will take touches away from Harden, whatever. If you watched the end of Game 6, there’s no way things play out like that again. I think we see Harden aggressive from the start to finish. He’s been fantastic the last two games actually, shooting 22-for-37 from the floor and 7-of-19 from distance. The volume isn’t where we’d like it to be for 35 points but even without it, he’s come close to that number. The narrative lover in me is looking for a big game from The Beard.

Robert Covington OVER 2.5 three-pointers (+105)

This number is a bit surprising. Covington has been arguably the Rockets’ best 3-point shooter over the past couple games, hitting at least 4 in three straight. We know he’s going to get the minutes and the volume again in a crucial Game 7. Shades of Big Shot Bob in this one? All Covington needs to do is less than he’s done the past three games and we get to the over here. Plus, we get some juice on the bet.

Westbrook OVER 32.5 total points + assists + rebounds (-120)

My thinking is both Westbrook and Harden have to have good games for the Rockets to advance. We should see both do the majority of the work in the second half of this game if it’s still close (which is should be). This is a pretty low number from what we’re used to see from Westbrook at full-strength. He’s had a few games to find his legs. If the game is close and the Rockets’ season is on the line, there’s no way Mike D’Antoni holds Russ back. So if he’s going to get 30+ minutes like he should, the assist and rebound numbers should be closer to his season averages of 7.0 and 7.9. Again, more of a risky narrative play, but I think the game is either close or Rockets by a mile.
