Report: Neymar tests positive for Covid-19, third Paris Saint-German player to contract the virus

Paris Saint-Germain is shorthanded with three notable players contracting Covid-19.

The French club Paris Saint-Germain finds themselves in a tough situation as the French Ligue 1 resumes play. Angel Di Maria and Leo Paredes have tested positive for Covid-19, per reports, and now L-Équipe is reporting Neymar has joined the list of positives.

The three men were part of a group of PSG players who traveled to the Spanish island of Ibiza to vacation following the club’s UEFA Champions League loss to Bayern Munich, per a report. Ander Herrera, Mauro Icardi, and Keylor Navas were also part of the group and are awaiting word on their health status.

PSG is next scheduled to face Lens on September 10th to open their Ligue 1 season. Last season, Neymar was second on the team with 13 goals and 6 assists. Di Maria led the team in minutes played and assists (14) while adding 8 goals. Navas was the team’s primary goalkeeper last season with 21 starts. Icardi was third on the team with 12 goals.
