Dallas Stars Twitter goes deep cut to celebrate their Game 1 win over Tampa Bay

The Stars pull the upset in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals, and the online dunking commences.

The Dallas Stars knocked off the Tampa Bay Lightning as +135 underdogs 4-1 in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, and used the opportunity to post a drive-by with it.

The Stars brought the heat by invoking the latest quarterback drafted by the Bolts hometown NFL franchise that did not earn a second contract with the team (amazingly, something that’s never happened in the team’s 45-year history), Jameis Winston.

That’s a deep cut, and clearly someone in the Stars office knows their way around Tampa Bay sports pretty well. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers did win the Super Bowl in 2002, and the Lightning claimed the Stanley Cup two years later, but otherwise... there’s plenty of mediocrity to choose from if they want to keep this up throughout the series.

But if the bookmakers are correct, Dallas should get the gifs off now: The Bolts are -143 favorites to even the series at 1-1 on Monday night at 8:00 p.m. ET.
