How the race order will be set for Thursday’s Truck Series race at Bristol

The NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series’ next race will be the be the UNOHon Thursday at Bristol Motor Speedway. The race will be aired at 7:40 p.m. ET on FS1. We’ll go over the the betting favorites and how the starting order will be determined below.

The starting grid has been determined by random draws that take team owner points into account since the restart, but NASCAR ha changed how qualifying will work in the three national series (Cup, Xfinity, Gander Outdoors Truck) moving forward. Here’s a breakdown of the new system.

Three performance metrics will be utilized, with each one weighted a little different. It breaks down as follows.

• Finishing position from the previous race (weighted 50%)
• Ranking in team owner points standings (35%)
• Fastest lap from the previous race (15%)

This system will be used for the remaining regular season races and the playoffs.

Pole sitter Grant Enfinger is coming off a win at the ToyotaCare 250 and ranks fourth in the standings. He’ll be trailed by Brett Moffitt, who has four top five finishes in his last five races. Ben Rhodes will start in third on the grid. Rhodes is two races removed from a win at Darlington and finished third at the ToyotaCare 250.
