What Week 1 tells us about Jaguars running backs in fantasy football

James Robinson should continue to dominate Jacksonville’s backfield touches in Week 2.

The Jacksonville Jaguars shocked the football world by upsetting the Indianapolis Colts 27-21 in Week 1 after releasing Leonard Fournette. While Gardner Minshew II’s three touchdown passes were the main reason Jacksonville came out on top, they also got valuable contributions from James Robinson. We’ll go over how to approach Robinson in fantasy football here.

Fantasy football analysis: Jaguars RBs James Robinson

It took Fournette getting released, Ryquell Armstead returning to the Covid-19 list, and Devine Ozigbo being moved to injured reserve for Robinson to get the starting job, but he was the only running back who got carries in week 1. He notched a game-high 16 attempts for 62 yards against Indianapolis. Chris Thompson could still be a factor in the red zone as a pass catcher moving forward, but only recorded two receptions of six yards in the season opener.

Week 2 recommendation

Jacksonville has made it clear that they’re alright using Robinson as their bell cow. He’s worth playing in season-long fantasy and could be a quality value option in DFS as well.
