What to do with Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp in Week 1 fantasy football

The Rams’ 1-2 punch at receiver make great options for fantasy lineups this week.

Cooper Kupp had a great Saturday, signing a three-year, $48 million extension with the Los Angeles Rams. He’s likely to have a pretty good Sunday too, when the Rams kickoff their season against the Dallas Cowboys in the primetime slot.

Kupp’s teammate Robert Woods could be next with a contract extension, but like Kupp, he figures to be a big part of the Rams’ offensive attack against Dallas this week.

Fantasy Football analysis: Rams WRs Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp

The Rams don’t really have a No. 1 receiver. Woods and Kupp both fit that bill. Kupp was second in the league with 10 receiving touchdowns last season. He narrowly edged out Woods for the team lead in receptions and receiving yardage as well. He had a little trouble with his ankle in practice last month, but there doesn’t seem to be any issue with his availability this week.

Woods led the NFL with 577 yards after the catch last season (Kupp was fourth), and he really came on strong late last season, rolling up 663 yards and two touchdowns over the team’s final seven games.

The good news for both receivers is that the Cowboys defense lost cornerback Byron Jones during the offseason, leaving a huge hole in their secondary.
