More than a few fantasy footballers went into the season wondering about Todd Gurley. On the surface, conditions are right for the Atlanta Falcon’s new running back to be a real difference maker in that lineup. But Gurley’s recent history with knee troubles are more than enough to make people think twice about going all in on him. But all signs out of Atlanta point to a big role for Gurley in the team’s offensive plans this year.

Fantasy Football analysis: Falcons RB Todd Gurley

Coaches say a lot of meaningless things during training camp and the preseason amping up optimism about their players. Talking points aside, it’s important to note that Falcons OC Dirk Koetter made it clear recently that he expects Gurley to get at least 15 touches a game.

The Falcons host the Seattle Seahawks this week, a team Gurley is well acquainted with from his time with the Rams. And while Seattle’s a tough team to run against, Gurley was able to accrue 130 yards and a three touchdowns against them last season. And with the Falcons boasting one of the most potent offenses in the league, the Seahawks will have their hands to full to bottle up Gurley completely.
